    The Schoolwide Enrichment Triad Model (SEM) evolved after 15 years of research and field testing by both educators and researchers (Renzulli, ). It combined the previously developed Enrichment Triad Model (Renzulli, ) with a more flexible approach to identifying high-potential students called the Revolving Door Identification Model. concluded that high social status, good personality adjustment, better reading ability and higher intelligence were all factors in the positive sociometric position of children in a sixth grade class.
